Silage Plastic Recycling

Dairy Australia engaged MRA Consulting Group to deliver Phase 1 of the project to develop a Product Stewardship Scheme for farm plastics, and, in particular, dairy silage wraps, netting, twine and pit covers. This scheme is one of 20 funded under the National Product Stewardship Investment Fund and a key initiative of the National Waste Policy Action Plan. EPR Enviro were engaged by MRA as plastics and product stewardship experts for the project. Tasks completed included: a review of several existing product stewardship schemes, their logistics, financial models and governance structures; review & refinement of logistics models; proposed governance model review; creation of stepped project plan through launch in 2023; key stakeholder strategy & engagement meetings with Dairy Australia; basic trials phase outline.
